A trip to the pet store

Hello again friends,

A few nights ago, foster mom took me on a solo trip to the Petco!  This was the first time I'd been anywhere all by myself.  I was a little nervous without the support of my foster siblings, but with some encouragement from foster mom, I did just fine.
The door to get in was a little strange; it opened all on its own.  Once foster mom assured me it wouldn't close really fast and grab my tail, I walked right on in.

Here I am surveying the store.

First stop - the toy department.  I browsed a little, but when I touched one of the toys, it swung back and tapped me on the nose.  I ran back to foster mom and decided I'd just observe from a safe distance.  She did get me a  Lamb Chop stuffy for being such a good boy though. Woo hoo!  It's waiting for me in my adoption bag.

Then we went back to the treat department to get a box.  One of the food reps was there and she rubbed my head and gave me a free sample. SCORE!

Then we headed on to check out some furred and feathered friends.  I was fascinated by them.  First stop, was a little gerbil.  I'm not sure either of us knew what to make of the other.

Then I moved on to greet the hamsters.  They didn't seem phased by me one bit.  Foster mom said I was very polite; I was curious, but calm and didn't try to get them.  Foster mom said that was great, but that these are friends I should always meet with a nice pane of glass between us.

Then we moved on to the parakeets.  I found them fascinating.  I just wanted to get a good look, but anytime I approached, they all moved to the other side of their enclosure.  So, I walked around there to say hi, and they moved away again.  I guess  I'll just have to be content with admiring them from a distance.

After all that visiting, we checked out and headed home.  I was tired and needed a little rest from my adventure.

Hope you'll visit again soon to see what else I've been up to.

Woof,
Garrett
